How To Style High Waisted Mom Jeans
Mom jeans. I think when most of us hear those words, we instantly have visions of our mothers during our childhoods. But the mom jeans of today aren’t quite the same. They were originally worn by middle-aged women and were considered very unfashionable to younger more trend-savvy women. Fast forward a couple of decades and mom jeans have come back around. But this time on-trend for women of every age group. From young teens, college-age, and beyond. And really it’s no wonder. The high-waisted relaxed style elongates your legs and is easy to dress up or down depending on what look you’re going for. And since they’re not tight, tend to be more comfortable than skinny jeans. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite ways to style high-waisted mom jeans.
How To Style High Waisted Mom Jeans
Because Mom Jeans typically don’t have any stretch to them, they need to be a bit big for them to be comfortable. If I’m wearing something big or loose on the bottom, I generally try and balance it out by wearing something smaller or tighter up top. So I’ll generally pair my jeans with a bodysuit or tank top. In the summertime, a crop top will work as well. And since the pants are high-waisted, wearing a belt will cinch right at the waist creating a nice hourglass shape. You can wear heels or ankle boots for a casual night out, or keep it ultra-casual with a pair of sneakers.
High Waisted Mom Jeans Outfit Ideas
Ultra Casual
–A pair of flats and a nice sweater or chunky knit cardigan are casual but pulled together.
–You can cuff your mom jeans and pair them with some sneakers and a tank top or t-shirt for an even more casual vibe that’s perfect for running errands or a day of shopping.

Dressy Casual
–For a look that’s a little less casual, you can wear a bodysuit and cinch your waist with a nice belt. Adding a pair of ankle boots or heels will also make the outfit more dressy.
– If it’s cold you can throw on a leather jacket. This will look good both day and night.
–Add your favorite accessories to complete your vibe.

Business Casual
–You can wear a white button-down alone or with a blazer and heels and elevate the look to business casual. At least over here on the West Coast!
–This works if you have casual Friday or a business casual dress code at work.
–This is my personal favorite. From work to drinks with friends without having to change your clothes!
